Citizens for True Democracy say the electoral college is outdated and anti-democratic. They say majority vote would be more accurate in showing the true victor in a close election. They also think that all the states would receive more equal attention when the parties are campaigning since there would no longer be a winner takes all from each state. They advocate equitable elections. The whole point of voting is that the majority wins, not the candidate with more widespread distribution of votes across various regions of the country. Although, the outcome of who is elected is usually the same either way, it has and does make a difference and actually directly affect who is running our country.

League of women voters state that abolishing the electoral college would give the people more of a voice and better representation. This group supports educated and active participation in government. It was founded in 1920 when only women could join the group. In 1973, men were allowed to obtain membership to the group as well. The group is democratic and wants the people to have a fair vote for who is president.
